Our Corporate plan
Our main strategies are set out in our Corporate Plan (Gaelic version) for the period 2009-12. The plan is a high-level strategy document which sets out the outcomes that we plan to achieve in partnership with colleges, universities, our stakeholders and other partners.
You can also view our Corporate Plan in an interactive PDF format for easier browsing and searching.
Our plan has seven broad priorities and outcomes:
- Outcome 1: employability and skills;
- Outcome 2: access, inclusion and progression;
- Outcome 3: knowledge exchange;
- Outcome 4: specialism and diversity;
- Outcome 5: collaboration;
- Outcome 6: world-class research; and
- Outcome 7: effective colleges and universities.
We consulted colleges, universities and many other bodies on the draft plan, including business organisations. We also worked closely on the development of the plan with our partner public bodies. View Consultation outcomes.
Our Corporate Plan is implemented by the Council's executive, which is structured into seven organisational groups. Each Group manages its own annual business plan - setting out the contribution that the Group will make to the successful delivery of the Corporate Plan.
An organisation-wide Critical Programme identifies the major work programmes across the organisation - and the key actions - that are critical to the success of the Council; this is a rolling programme that we update quarterly to reflect changing priorities and the 'fast-moving' environment in which many public bodies are now working.
