Dr Lindsay Burley CBE

Lindsay Burley

Lindsay worked in the Scottish NHS as a physician and manager for 30 years. From 1995 to 2003 she was Chief Executive of Borders Health Board. Since 2003, Lindsay has worked as a partner of Eskhill & Co providing business coaching and mediation services.

Currently she is Chair of NHS Education for Scotland, and a director of the Scottish Association for Mental Health, and the Tabula Rasa Dance Company. She was a lay governor of Edinburgh Napier University.

She is a graduate of Edinburgh University, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the Royal College of General Practitioners, and the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.

In 2011, Lindsay was awarded a CBE for services to the Health Service in Scotland.

Lindsay was appointed to the Council on 16 October 2006 to 15 October 2010, and was reappointed for a second term from 16 October 2010 to 15 October 2013.
