Events to support institutions achieve the aims of the GAP
Launch of the Plan
The plan was launched in August 2016 by Jamie Hepburn MSP, Minister for Employability and Training and Professor Maggie Kinloch, Chair of SFC's Access and Inclusion Committee and SFC Council Board member. Also speaking at the event were staff from the City of Glasgow College, Ayrshire College and the University of Edinburgh.
Preventing and responding to Violence Against Women (VAW) in Scottish HE
On 14 June 2017, SFC hosted a range of representatives from college, university and other interested parties at a workshop focused on sharing good practice and collaboration across the HE sector. Whilst the event was focused on universities, the event was also open to college representatives.
Presentations were given by SFC [PPT] followed by the universities of Strathclyde [PPT], Glasgow [PPT] and Stirling [PPT]. The focus was then on table discussions where the three following questions were posed:
- What are the key challenges facing institutions in developing their approaches to preventing and responding to violence against women?
- What opportunities do you think there may be for collaboration between institutions?
- What role can SFC play in supporting institutions to overcome these challenges and to enhance collaboration?
A summary of the discussions will shortly be published here.
