It's never too late to return to education

After years of working as a carer, Rose Stevenson, 46, first enrolled on an Adult Returner course at Glasgow's Stow College six years ago. She enjoyed it so much she progressed onto an Access course, then achieved an HNC and HND in Social Sciences, and has now gained a degree in Social Sciences from Glasgow Caledonian University.

"The Adult Returner course I took at the college didn't just focus on the academic side; it taught me life skills and helped me find out what I was capable of. I never would have imagined that I could have achieved all this. Now I feel that there's nothing I can't do"

Stow College's Adult Returner programme is designed to improve literacy, communication and numeracy skills as well as building computing skills and foreign languages.
