Cancer Innovation Challenge

6 April 2017

SFC funds £1m challenge to help Scotland become a world leading carer for people with cancer.

Cancer Innovation Challenge

The Cancer Innovation Challenge brings together three SFC Innovation Centres, led by The Data Lab in collaboration with the Digital Health and Care Institute (DHI) and Stratified Medicine Scotland (SMS).

The project aims to encourage Innovation Centres to work in partnership to help Scotland become a world leading carer for people with cancer by seeking data science solutions.

There’s currently a consultation inviting people to help shape the challenge.

The Challenge will have two open funding calls, one call looking for innovative cancer data science solutions and one looking for new tools for cancer patients to report their own outcomes and experiences. They’re currently looking for reviewers to join their panel to assess applications.

There will be a programme of activities, including a four-day Cancer Data Dive in June, involving the NHS, industry, the public and a variety of stakeholders in the health sector.
