New Campus Glasgow funding information
SFC annual capital funding to colleges exceeds £90 million and our current capital programme has a total value of approximately £750 million.
All requests for capital funding are submitted to our Capital Investment Committee which meets quarterly. Its advice and recommendations are then placed before the Council for approval.
The Board itself has delegated authority from the Scottish Parliament to approve funding for individual projects up to a level of £50 million. Above that amount the Council's recommendations must be sanctioned by the Scottish Government. The New Campus Glasgow project falls into that category. As well as having a role in the formal approval of the project, the Scottish Government is also supporting the project assurance process by putting in place a gateway review procedure whereby a team of independent practitioners review the project at key stages.
