Bursary support is discretionary, not guaranteed to all eligible applicants. Bursary funds are limited and may not be sufficient to support all eligible applicants. Colleges will consider all eligible applicants but may give priority to those in greatest need.
Support may be available on a discretionary basis for maintenance and for other specific costs. In most cases, this support is means-tested.

- Be attending (or applying to) a Scottish further education college
- Be attending (or applying for) a course below higher national level
- Be ordinarily resident in Scotland
