Environmental sustainability guidance
Scottish Government Reporting Guidance
Mandatory reporting for public bodies was announced by the Scottish Government at the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) Conference on 25th November 2014. Nearly 150 public bodies in Scotland are required to report, including universities and colleges.
The reporting template was developed by the Climate Leaders’ Officer Group (CLOG) which consists of representatives from all areas of the public sector; local authorities, education, the NHS and other Non-departmental Public Bodies and SEPA. EAUC-Scotland provided input and guidance on behalf of the further and higher education sector through this group.
SFC sustainable development guidance
Sustainable Development Guidance for Estate Management [Archive] was produced in 2008 on behalf of SFC to provide colleges and universities with a toolkit for incorporating sustainable development into practical, routine facilities management and for embedding the principles of sustainability in their estate strategies.
SFC Outcome Agreement Guidance
SFC updated and published its guidance to the sectors which covers how each colleges and universities can begin to demonstrate tangible leadership in environmental sustainability. SFC's Research and Innovation directorate and Capital and Climate Change team can provide further advice.
