Marine power research project
The Hebridean Marine Energy Futures project - backed by £900,000 from SFC knowledge exchange grants - is a collaborative research programme which will explore the potential of the wave-power resource to the west of the Outer Hebrides.

Lews Castle College, part of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) are leading the project with partners including Edinburgh, Strathclyde and Heriot-Watt universities, the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) and the Environmental Research Institute at North Highland College UHI.
The project has the backing of marine energy developers, utility companies and local authorities.
