Higher hub bags two awards

Higher hub bags two awards

23 Nov 2016

Glasgow Caledonian University’s Advanced Higher Hub has won two awards at the SQA Star Awards.

The Advanced Higher Hub, a partnership with Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Funding Council, was announced as the Centre Pride o’ Worth winner as well as bagging the Partnership of the Year award. As partners, SFC got a trophy too!

The Hub allows sixth year pupils from 28 schools across Glasgow, who would not normally have access to Advanced Highers in their school, to enrol at the university to complete their qualifications and get a taste for university life.

In August, the pupils celebrated a 91% pass rate, with over 80% of them going on to study at university.

The SQA Star Awards celebrated excellence in learning and teaching at a ceremony in the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh presented by Kaye Adams.
