SFC supports research links with China

Wuhan University, China

17 Nov 2016

The latest in SFC’s recent cluster of overseas visitors has been a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of the People's Republic of China (MoST).

MoST is responsible for designing the Chinese national research programme and for ensuring that the benefits of research support the national economy and wider society - a significant overlap with SFC’s own work in research and innovation.

SFC’s Research and Innovation team was joined by Professor Sir David Wallace from the Royal Society of Edinburgh in welcoming the delegation. Discussions focussed on strengthening Scotland - China research collaboration and the commercialisation of research. The visit to SFC builds on work to build links with China led by Sir David and former SFC council board member, Professor Tariq Durrani.

You can find out more about the Royal Society’s work with China in its paper New Paradigms for Future Collaboration in Science and Innovation.
