Stirling launches sports hive

The UK’s first sports business incubator launched at Stirling University today.

The Sport Hive is an innovative hub where sports entrepreneurs, students and businesses can come together to develop ideas.

Stirling University is Scotland’s university for sporting excellence, and The Sport Hive builds on the university’s reputation for sporting expertise and innovation. 

The Sport Hive is the latest venture by SFC-funded Sporting Chance Initiative, which was set up in 2010 to identify and support Scotland’s sports entrepreneurs. The project has helped over 700 Scottish companies since it began. 

Five entrepreneurs will join “Sports Entrepreneur in Residence” Michael Harkins; inventor of the multi-award winning Turtle Pack children’s swimming aid, as the first “incubees” in The Sport Hive.
