Cancer Data Dive
24 May 2017
Data scientists are to join a “data dive” as part of the SFC-funded Cancer Innovation Challenge.
The Cancer Innovation Challenge is running the open cancer data dive event to bring together talented people with a shared interest in innovation in cancer care.
Entrepreneurially-minded data scientists and analysts, clinicians, designers, and software engineers will work side by side for three days and nights developing projects to improve cancer care in the NHS in Scotland.
The data dive is in partnership with Product Forge, who regularly run “hackathons” like this to build new products that solve real world problems. Participants will form small teams to work on a product prototype using synthetic cancer data sets, with support from experts and the wider technology community.
The top ranking teams can access support to develop their concept beyond the event, including further access to NHS experts and data.
The Cancer Data Dive is at CodeBase in Edinburgh from Thursday 15 – Sunday 18 June and is open to people working in the health sector, researchers, anyone working in the tech, startup, digital or creative industries and students.
