The 2017 Interface Knowledge Exchange Awards have taken place in Edinburgh.

Described by Interface Director, Siobhán Jordan, as a fantastic showcase of what can be achieved when business and academia come together, this year’s event was attended by over 300 people.

Amongst the delegates was SFC Budgeting and Reporting Officer, Mary Boyle. Mary took the opportunity to meet up with a business she first came across in 2009 when she processed an Innovation Voucher application from Sunamp Ltd.

The Innovation Voucher that was awarded began a long and productive partnership between Sunamp and the University of Edinburgh. The partnership resulted in the development of a revolutionary new energy storage system which is currently being installed into properties across central Scotland and is saving owners up to 50% in energy costs.

Professor Colin Pulham and Andrew Bissell, founder of Sunamp Ltd, presented one of the five innovation sessions that preceded the award ceremony.
