Assistant Information and Communication Technology Support Officer

Salary in the range: £21,474 - £26,622 

This is a temporary 12 month appointment        

This post will provide first line ICT support and co-ordinate help desk requests and to contribute to the maintenance and support of the ICT infrastructure and services.

As a member of a small dynamic team you will make an important contribution by providing first line helpdesk support to SFC users for any ICT and audio visual issues or problems they are having.  Duties to include: co-ordinating and managing ICT services to assist and enable meetings via tele and video conferencing; creating support and training guidance for the various software and services we use and maintaining documentation necessary for day to day information systems procedures.

Skills and experience

You should have good written and oral communication skills together with well-developed interpersonal skills.  The ability to plan and prioritise work to manage your workload is important as is being able to work flexibly, both as part of a small team team as well as carrying out tasks independently.  We expect you to have some knowledge and experience of working with Windows 7 and Office 2010.  You should be educated to degree level (SCQF level 9) or equivalent, preferably from a computing based background, or at least one year’s experience in a computer oriented client support role.  

Desirable experience includes: some exposure of delivering user/induction training and training materials/guidance, creating and editing online videos for training and guidance purposes and working with and editing guidance within an online content management system.
