On Track

In 2004, SFC's predecessors, the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council and the Scottish Further Education Funding Council, jointly commissioned a longitudinal survey of learners who qualified from Scottish colleges and universities. The On Track: Class of 2004 survey, conducted by Ipsos MORI and Critical Thinking, tracked the progress of this group of learners over five years. The learners were surveyed four times: in 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009.

SFC continued this survey theme with On Track: Class of 2007, which was carried out by IFF Research. The Class of 2007 were surveyed three times: in 2007, 2009, and 2010.

Note that the SPSS data set contains the unweighted data. To gain the weighted figures, you must turn the weightings on. (Go to the Data drop down menu, then select Weight Cases and select the weight cases by option: the variable sxins@wt should be used to weight the cases.)
