Glasgow Caledonian University - multimedia experience
Elizabeth Ather, a third year Multimedia Journalism student at Glasgow Caledonian University, spent a month at the SFC on a placement with the Communications team. She was involved in a variety of internal communications activities, including writing articles for staff newsletters and intranet as well as producing a short film of the work of SFC from a student's view, including an interview with the Chief Executive, Mark Batho.

Elizabeth, who hopes to work in broadcast journalism, said of her experience: "Being able to put some of the practical skills I have learned at University into practise within a working environment has been invaluable experience for me.
"Usually, I am on the receiving end of press releases as opposed to creating them. It's almost been a 'behind-the-scenes' peek for me. Seeing the workings of the press from this different perspective has given me a more rounded idea of how journalists receive information and interpret this to create newsworthy stories."
