Scottish Textiles Project
Scotland's future fashion stars came together for a fashion show of innovative collections of designs from the Scottish Textiles Academic Group (STAG), which includes members from 14 of Scotland's college and university fashion and textile departments.
The showcase of student work marked the culmination of a year of financial support for STAG from the Scottish Funding Council.
The STAG project aims to create a partnership between further and higher education institutions and industry specialists, to deliver graduates who are fit and ready to be employed. The project has been working to align courses in fashion and textiles across Scotland with the specific skills and attributes employers need. This has resulted in new course content across the colleges and universities, improved work placements and effective graduate recruitment.
Jacqui Cullen, Scottish Manager of Skillfast-UK and STAG project manager, said: "With this fantastic show, we are inviting fashion and textile employers to take a look at new talent and vibrant creativity which, if harnessed, could shape the future of Scotland's textile sector".
