The SFC-funded Scottish Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) has launched a series of video case studies to showcase how the Scottish aquaculture industry is embracing innovation.
Consisting of six short films, the series includes a look at Loch Duart, a Highland company that produces premier quality salmon. The series also features Shetland Mussels which is currently tackling the challenges of setting up a mussel hatchery.
The stories coming out of both companies are as inspiring as the scenery – well worth a watch on both counts. Providing an academic perspective is Professor Hervé Migaud, Director of Research at the University of Stirling’s world-renowned Institute of Aquaculture.
Talking about the industry’s appetite for new ideas and new skills, SFC’s Director of Research and Innovation, Stuart Fancey said: “It’s really exciting to see ideas being turned into commercial opportunities and also to see the way the industry is working with academics to develop its future skills needs.”
You can see all six videos in the series on the SAIC Youtube channel.
