Following record-breaking entries to this year’s Converge Challenge, the leading top 60 projects from Scottish universities have been shortlisted.

The SFC-funded Converge Challenge is a company creation competition and entrepreneurship development programme for staff, students, and recent graduates of Scottish universities and research institutes aimed at creating a new generation of entrepreneurs in Scotland.

The top 60 competitors will benefit from a range of opportunities and support to enable them to further develop their business propositions before competing for a total prize fund of over £160,000 of cash and in-kind business support for the winners.

This year’s finalists include ideas covering women’s health, virtual reality, cybercrime, robotics, renewables and sustainability.

The three Converge Challenge award categories are: Converge Challenge – for those with an established idea; KickStart – for early stage ideas; Social Enterprise – for ideas focussing on social and environmental issues.

A full list of all finalists can be found on the Converge Challenge website.
