The Enterprise and Skills Strategic Board has published its Strategic Plan, outlining a series of actions for Scotland’s five enterprise and skills agencies and a blueprint to Government, aimed at driving productivity and inclusive growth.
Fourteen agency actions and 18 recommendations for Government are outlined around four interconnected missions: Skills for the Future; Business Models and Workplace Innovation; Business Creation and Growth and Exports.
The Plan also ensures that the needs of the customer – whether business or learner user – will be at the centre, with advice easier to access.
The Scottish Funding Council welcomes the focus on skills and the recognition of the important role that Scotland’s colleges and universities can play in shaping Scotland’s economic future.
Commenting on the publication of the Plan, our Chair, Mike Cantlay, said:
“This is an ambitious plan which aims to generate a step change in productivity and to drive inclusive economic growth.
“Scotland’s colleges and universities are well positioned to make a valuable contribution to the achievement of these aims and we will support and encourage them to do so.”
A full copy of the Plan can be accessed on the Scottish Government website.
