Senior Policy Officer, Research & Innovation (maternity cover)

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic team member to join our Research and Innovation directorate as Senior Policy Officer, Research and Innovation for up to 12 months to provide maternity cover for the current post-holder. Applications for secondment are welcome.

To succeed in this role you will be experienced in policy development, stakeholder engagement and influencing in a complex political environment.

You will use your interpersonal and communication skills to good effect to influence, negotiate and manage relationships with a diverse range of people and to work well and with impact as part of your team. You will be able to demonstrate your ability to analyse, understand and respond to complex issues with good judgement. You will have well developed organisational and project management skills, enabling to you to deliver high quality and effective outputs and manage a diverse workload.

While this role is based in our Edinburgh office, our hybrid working policy means there is substantial opportunity to work from home most of the time. We also understand the value of flexible working and we will be happy to consider flexible working arrangements for this position.
